Abstract

Ayurvedic pharmaceutics deals with various methods of preparation of medicines. In Ksheerpaka kalpana Godugdh is heated with aushadhi draavya with the help of Agni therefore medicinal benefits of these dravyas are conveyed via Godugdh. Godugdh is Jeevaniya & having Medhya, rasayan property, effective in Kshat & Ksheena, having Medhya, Balya, & stanyakara properties.Various types of ksheerapaka are found to be explained in Ayurved Samhita useful in various diseases. Ksheerapaka kalpana is commonly used form of medicine in all age group. Charaka Samhita, Dravyaguna Vidnyana, Sharandhara Samhita etc. have explained Ksheerapaka kalpana. There are three references mentioning the proportion of dravya, milk, and water to be used for Ksheerpaka Kalpana. In present study a conceptual review of Ksheerpaka Kalpana has been done.
